The Jewelled Journal

Hi, I’m Charlene, a casual writer with a curious eye for jewellery, design, and the quiet details that often get overlooked.

I started The Jewelled Journal out of equal parts frustration and fascination. Frustration with how much of our local jewellery scene feels stuck in time. Fascination with the artistry, stories, and cultural layers behind every bangle, clasp, or jade pendant we wear.

This blog is my personal space to think out loud. I write about trends, heritage, modern design, and the strange tension between old-school goldsmithing and today’s minimal Instagram brands. Sometimes I romanticise. Sometimes I rant. Either way, it’s always honest.

I’m not a jeweller or a fashion editor. I’m just someone who grew up watching women in my life treat jewellery as memory, armour, and self-expression. Yet, I never quite grew out of that curiosity.

If you’re into slow reflections, design critiques, and the occasional sarcastic take on a $10K engagement ring with bad typography, welcome. You’ll fit right in.
